An academic-light English course created to build the skills and language students need for their studies. It develops students' ability to think critically in an academic context right from the start of their language learning. The use of inspiring video of academic topics. Critical Thinking sections develop the thinking skills. Every unit is enhanced with fully integrated, bespoke Classroom App material to extend the skills and language. The main aim of the course is to master specialist communication at the B2 level.  Any student joining the course should demonstrate at least a B1 level of English, i.e., the third level of English in the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). A person who can speak the language at that level has mastered lexical and grammatical material as well as academic skills that allow them to understand the main message in clear standard statements related to the typical issues and events, to deal with the general communication situations that may happen, to create consistent oral and written statements, and to describe events, and justify opinions and plans.


This course is funded by the joined ELLS Fund for Incentives.
